ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION Lyndhm'st Br. #504 The January meeting was held at the Legion Hall. It was a joint meeting with the Ladies Auxiliary present. Reports from the Ladies showed that they are going to be busy for a few months. On March 1 there will be an auction sale and bake table at the Legion starting at 8:00 p.m. On April 12 there will be a Talent Night and in May they will have the Ladies Auxiliary Zone Convention. From the Entertainment Chairman of the Branch came these reports: Feb. 15 Valentine Dance with "Touch '0 Country" Mar. 12 Leeds County Farmers 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mar. 15 Casino Night Mar. 22 Dance with Marv Moulton Band New byâ€"laws are being processed and we hope to have them back by May for the new slate of officers. They have to go to Ontario Command for approval. There will also be an Open Dart Tournament on April 19, starting at 12:00 noon. ST. JOHN'S A.C.W. The February meeting was held at the home of Eleanor Wills. The meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer and the meditation from the Living Message was read by Mrs. Mabel Standen followed by a prayer said in unison. Ruth Anna Glover read the Scripture, John 1556â€"19. Roll call was answered by eight members. We were pleased to have Mrs. Kay Brady, Mrs. Heather Dean and little Andrea Dean as our visitors. Treasurer's report was presented and membership fees paid by seven members. Bills were paid. Three Christmas thank you notes were read from: Ganaanue Salvation Army and Mrs. Dora Langridge and Mrs. Dalrymple. Sunshine bags are being filled for Lent. A reader from St. John's is invited to take part in the World Day of Prayer Service at St. Peter's, Seeley's Bay on March 7, 1986. The Bishop's visit is being talked about for May, 1986. The Church heating was discussed. St. Luke's, Lyndhurst is having the Easter Vigil in place of St. John's. Eleanor Wills closed the meeting with the Grace. Mrs. Dora Langridge would like to have a meeting soon. A Valentine Contest was enjoyed by all members and was followed by a lovely lunch served by Eleanor Wills and Heather Dean. LYNDHURST Br. 50'!
