.‘ .TV DELTA WJ. The response to the Roll Call query was revealing in that it indicated clearly our view of present government. Roll Call question: "What would be the main thing you would require for good government?" The responses hit strongly at honesty, integrity, good morals and maturity; other responses showed a sincere concern for the housing for seniors and employment of young people. Our Feb. 18th meeting was held at the home of Isabel Robert with a small attendance. It was agreed that we would all bring a donation of canned or non=perishable food to the next meeting for those in need in our Township. Sec. Florence Molony suggested we all write the government regarding the necessity of increasing welfare payments; due to some desiring more information before doing so, this did not become a motion. The donation of $25 to the Delta Fair Board is to be used for a $5 first prize in each of these categories - apple pie, bib apron, crocheted afghan, dining-room bouquet and best collection of vegetables. The Quiz on the Fall issue of Home 8: Country Magazine was lively and informative. This issue is considered the best in years by many. The program time was alloted to discussion of the 24 recommendations concerning the changes in the W.I. within a five-year period.Florence and Isabel were assigned the task of correlating suggestions and submitting them to the District Secretary. The next meeting is at Z p.m. March 18th and all members are asked to celebrate St. Patricks Day by wearing an abundance of green. Also bring something old, unusual or whatever and we'll have a "Show 8: Tell" period. V An invitation is warmly extended to all ladies. For information phone Florence Molony 928â€"2801. IIORTH LEEDS LANTERN NEW OUTREACH NEIGHBOURS The New Outreach Neigthurs had their dinner on Feb. 6th. The hall was decorated for Valentine's Day and heart month. Balloons were used as bouquets; each table had a red candle, valentine napkins and a- container of candy hearts for each person. Many thanks to those who organized the dinner. Marion Stone introduced the guest speaker - Millard GoodSell from the Delta Fire Department, who gave a very interesting talk on fire safety. He told of many rules that can be followed to make sure that everyone gets out of a burning building. He said we should have a special meeting place for all members of the family. He suggested people have a fire alarm and make sure they are working. We can also buy a travel alarm. People with wood stoves should make sure their chimneys and pipes are cleaned and not make the mistake of putting ashes in a pasteboard box. They should be put in a pail. One thing that was very important to any fire department is when phoning in an alarm, give a good report about where the fire is. Mr. Goodsell answered questions after to anyone wanting to. know more about alarms, etc. Anna Greenhorn said Grace. Dinner was served by the convenor Veta Bolton and her helpers. After the tables were cleared, a sing song was enjoyed by all, followed by games. Everyone is looking forward to the next dinner on March 6th.
