This may be due to several things: 1) financial concerns; 2) poor health; 3) family problems. Quite often an empathetic ear is all that is required to ease some of the stress or tension that is bothering you. A mutual selfâ€"help group has been started by 3 farm couples. They are Mr. 8: Mrs. Steve O’Meara - 382-2434; Mr. & mrs. Gordon French 928â€"2784 and Mr. 8: Mrs. Bob Smith - 283-0381. They meet on a regular basis. If you are interested in their group, please contact any one of them regarding meeting dates or additional information. *** FARM FUEL TAX RELIEF Agriculture Minister John Wise has announced that as of May 1, 1986 all federal sales and excise taxes on deisel and gasoline fuel for farm use will be effectively removed. The current rebate of federal fuel taxes for farmers' off highâ€"way use will increase from 3¢ to 5.5¢*per litre. ** RURAL ORGANIZATION TIPS What Organzations Should Be Aware Of: 1) Organizations may be held responsible for the actions of their volunteers and for injuries sustained by volunteers. 2) General Liability Insurance Policies should include specific endorsements covering volunteers. 3) Cross-liability coverage would protect the volunteers and the organization from lawsuits against each other. 4) Waivers may not be sufficient to protect the organization from a lawsuit brought forward by an injured volunteer. 5) Job descriptions, training and supervision of volunteers are valuable prevention measures which could reduce the chance of accidents and non-professional conduct from occurring. What Volunteers Be Aware Of: 1) Volunteers can be held responsible for actions that lead to injury of others. 2) A volunteer's General Liability policy included in many homeâ€"owner policies may not protect the volunteer in case of such actions. 3) The General Liability policy of the organization may not be specifically endorsed to cover volunteers. 4) Signing a waiver could leave the volunteer with no protection in case of Should injury. 5) A proper job description, knowledge of procedures, emergency training and supervision could decrease the likelihood of negligent action.
