TOWNSHIP OF REAR OF LEEDS & LANSDOWNE Recreation Committee The major focus of our Committee these past two years has been the development of a Master Plan of Recreation for our Township. To this end, results of our survey and recommendations will be presented at our October 27 Volunteer Appreciation Night to be held in the Lyndhurst Legion Hall. The Recreation Committee has extended written invitation to the Chairman of each volunteer organization in the Township. The evening will consist of a social hour, a catered meal and a formal discussion regarding recreation planning for our area. Judith Cronin of the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation will be in attendance to provide information as to funding and support available to organizations. Our summer Day Camp has had its greatest registration in its history this year. Over two hundred registrants attended the two sessions. Special thanks to Jane Billings and Chuck Galway for their leadership and extensive donation of time and effort to this worthwhile venture. Also thanks to the Seeley's Bay United Church who sponsored this endeavour. A new Committee of Management at Centennial Park has been appointed by Council. The members are: Mike Stanford (Chairman), Karen Hudson, Peter Roantree, Mary Peppard, Jane Billings, Diane Leadbeater, Barb Donaldson and Peggy McCumber. Since June this Committee has had several meetings regarding the development of the Park and will be seeking feedback from the community. On Saturday, August 9. members of the Committee replaced all the bleachers at the ball diamond. Special thanks to members of the Girls' Softball team, Peter Billings and Doug McCumber for their help. Our next meeting will be held at 7:30 on September 29 at the Township Offices. ems WHLEEDS LANTERN LYNDHURST LEGION BR. 504 LYNDHURST UCW The July meeting was held at the home of Audrey Welch where the president welcomed everyone and read "The Last Wor ".
