8 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN LYNDHURST UCW At the Sept. meeting of the Lyndhurst UCW, president Marion Warren welcomed everyone. Ruth Patrick was in charge of the devotional which included an excellent reading entitled, "Harvest Time". The offering was taken and dedicated. Roll call was answered by 13 members and the secretary's report was read and approved. The treasurer's report was read. We will send a Christmas gift to our foster child in Barbados. A new guest book and a mat will be purchased for the church. A bee will be held to make name tags for the Fall Rally to be held in Elgin. The Bible for this month from the Bible-aâ€"Month club was sent. to Peru. Coins were collected for the Fellowship of the Least Coin. A card of thanks from Bob Woods and family was read. After the Benediction, a lovely lunch was provided. A priority for this coming year is the purchase of some new playground equipment. Consequently, there was a discussion on various ideas for fundraising. Two projects scheduled for late fall are a table at Rideau Crafts and running a bingo at Mr. Bingo‘s in Kingston. Mr. Claire, Principal, reported that this year's enrollment is 282. He spoke very enthusiastically about the staff. The school has recently received three new Icon computers and one new printer. ST. JOHN'S ACW The September meeting was held at the home of Suzanne Gatenby. The meeting was opened with the Lord's Prayer, followed by the Guild Prayers. Scripture and meditation from Living Message were read. Roll call was answered by 9 members. We were pleased to have 3 visitors with us. Treasurer's report was given. Bakeless Bake Sale money was handed in. A Fall Arts 8: Crafts will be held Oct. 18th in Lyndhurst Legion Hall. Leeds & Grenville Area meeting will be held Sept. 23rd at St. Paul's Newbliss.
