Rear of Leeds and Lansdowne Recreation Committee The recreational meeting was held at the Township Office on Nov. 24 with five members present. Minutes of the Sept. meeting were approved as read. Two members of the Winter Swim Program met with the Rec Committee and monies have been allotted to help with the Swim Program for this comingwinter. The five ladies that organize and run this program are to be congratulated. There are two bus loads of children going to swim at the Artillery Park Pool, Kingston each week where they receive badges as their swimming progresses. The rec committee felt that the Volunteer Night held in Oct. was a suCCess and plan to hold the same next year. Chairman of Seeley's Bay Centennial Park Committee, Mike Stanford, attended the meeting to discuss plans underway to develop the park. A motion was passed to ask council to endorse a proposal for a Site Development Plan and a request from the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation for a 75% funding for the Seeley's Bay Centennial Park. A motion was passed that the Rec Committee ask permission from Council to establish a surplus funds account for monies left over from yearly budget. The Rec Committee will help the Centennial Park Committee with the erection of the rink boards for two rinks at the park (one for h0ckey and one for figure skating). Dave Hudson, Chariman reported that the S.E.E.D. Grants would be ready in Feb. 87. Meeting adjourned. JOHN'S ACW The December meeting of the St. John's, Leeds ACW was held at the home of Carol Jacob with a noon lunch. The meeting opened with the Lord's prayer followed by Guild prayers. Roll call was answered by 9 members. The Nov. minutes were read and approved. Collection for the day was taken. Treasurer's report was given. Joining fees were paid by 11 members. The scripture and meditation from the Living Message were read. A letter was read from Mrs. Langridge. An offering was given to our Church School as a Christmas gift. Joan Read thanked the ACW members on behalf of the Church School. A donation was also given to the Church School for Christmas candy. Joan Tye thank the ACW for donuts given to the Youth Group to sell at Hamblin's Christmas tree farm. A nice sum of money was raised at our Arts and Crafts table. The Synod apportionment was paid. We will give a pointsetta for the Christmas open house at the Rectory. There was an exchange of Christmas recipes. The Grocery Hamper draw on Nov. 29th was won by Debbie (Pyne) Gervais of Ottawa.
