NORTH LEEDS LANTERN 3 FOCUS: While we normally focus on the past. on people. communities or buildings. this month we are placing our focus on something new.... the introduction of a series of Shows coming into our various communities. Sponsored by the Rideau Lakes Union Library Board. with assistance from Outreach Ontario and Ontario Arts Council.. the five shows in the series will hopefully be the start of an annual offering. To assure balance of funding as well as some idea of audience numbers. the Library Board is selling "Show Series" tickets at bargain prices. For $15.00 a patron will have the opportunity of attending all five shows. By using facilities in each of the communities. the Board hopes to encourage support from the whole area. CommUnity Halls. schools. Churches. etc. will be the location of the Series Shows. In addition. the Board is sponsoring Children's productions within the schools as well as special event programs [one on Elgin Day and another at South Crosby Summer Camp]. Tickets will be available from any Union Board member [see list below] and may also be purchased [at a higher cost] at the door prior to each performance. ALL performers are professionals and perform across Ontario [and across Canada in some cases].
