Eighty seven sat down for dinner, and some were turned away and there were 10 take out dinners. This is the second year for having these dinners, and if it weren't for the volunteers and the girls who cook there would be many disappointed people. Anna Greenhorn said Grace, after which we were served a lovely chicken dinner. Mr. & Mrs. Frezell, Delta were presented with flowers the occassion being their 50th anniversary. jennifer Cossitt M.P. was our guest speaker. Before she spoke she presented Mrs. Marjorie Chant with two certificates, one from "fresh air" neighbourly news and one from our Outreach neighbours. Mrs. Chant had celebrated her 90th birthday. Jennifer spoke on the new bills the government are bringing in; one is on the higher fines and prison terms for drug users, and on the defence programs. Small gifts were given to all celebrating a birthday in june. The next dinner is 2nd. July PHILIPISVILLE W.I. The Philipsville Women's Institute held their last meeting until September.
