A fall road tour was undertaken and after conferring with the Road Superintendent, several improvements were planned for 1990. Signing of all roads is be undertaken. This will facilitate ambulance and fire services. Some intersections will be corrected to reduce confusion. The Ministry of Transportation has reconsidered our Speed Zone Reduction request on Highway 15 for the Hamlet of Portland. They have agreed to reduce the speed to 60 km/hr from a point 100 metres south of Main Street to the beginning of the 80 Iqwfiu zone just north of Cedar Valley Road. We are pleased as this was our major area of concern for pedestrian traffic. Pennission was granted to the O.P.P. to set up a part time location in the former clerk's office in the Old Town Hall, Delta. Worried about the General Tax Sale(G.S.T.)? Council has decided to host a public meeting for an information session for Revenue Canada to provide a basic overview of the G.S.T. and answer all your questions.
