E Special Daily E DELTA U.C.W. The U.C.W. meeting was held in the Sunday School Rooms. President Irma Chant welcomed all, following which she read a poem entitled "Remember to Sing." Our purpose was then repeated. Edith Woods was in charge of the Devotional Service. With President Irma Chant as pianist, the hymn "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" was sung. Scripture lesson was taken from Luke 24:1-9, and an appropriate story "Easter is the Time to Believe" was read by Edith. Collection was received and dedicated, as was the Fun Project and birthday money. The roll call was answered by our members, resulting in 3 hospital and 4 home visits being made. The secretary and treasurer's reports 'were read and accepted. Our Friendship Secretary, Edith Woods, read thankâ€"you notes from Joen Stewart, Mrs. Vincent and Irma Chant. A Stewardship poem, "Let Them Know God Lives," was read by Irene Goodsell. It was decided that our Easter Thankoffering Meeting be held April 12th at 8p.m., and that other Churches are to be notified. Irene Goodsell, having the program, read to us about "Do Sanctions against South Africa make sense?" Thousands of nonâ€"white South Africans have been forced out of work and into lives of poverty, hunger and desperation - thanks to the disastrous campaign. It has also been decided that "Economic empowerment strengthens blacks to free themselves" â€" so if that ever happens, what will happen then? A brief discussion was held re Irene's topic and President Irma closed with prayer. Edith Woods and Aileen Jacques served a tasty lunch on a table attractively decorated for St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Nellie French gave the courtesy.
