Each member prepared a recipe from the recipe booklet in the back of our project books. We all enjoyed the delightful salads, buns, etc. After we finished our meal we dipped a variety of fruits into chocolate fondue â€" we loved that! We all then joined in and helped clean up. While we were doing the dishes we played a game and continued playing different games till the end of the evening. It was a great evening and a fun way to end the project. On Wed. Oct. 21 our group members will be getting together at our leader, Nancy Hayes' house to prepare our skit which we will present at Achievement night on November 16 at 7:00 pm in Lansdowne. Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you there! ELGIN & DISTRICT COâ€"OPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL The month of October has brought some changes to the Nursery School. Although saddened by the resignation of Mrs. Ruth Brown, so that she may pursue a career change, we are pleased to announce that Mrs. Jane Kimmerly was hired for the position of Teacher/Director and assumed her duties on Oct. 26. Mrs. Kimmerly formerly taught at the Mallorytown Coâ€"op Nursery School and she comes to us with glowing recommendations. We are confident that all the parents and children will be glad to have her with us. As always, in order to help offset expenses, the parents are busily involved with se Jeral fundraising projects. Once again this year, the Nursery School will take part in the Rideau Crafts Christmas Market on Nov. 28 at Rideau District High School. Home Baked goodies and handcrafted gift items will be on sale, as well as raffle tickets for a handâ€"quilted clock and gingerbread house. November will also see the parents busy selling "Pay What You Pull" raffle tickets featuring a first prize of $100.00 cash. Another fundraising project will be a sale of "Toys to Grow" to be held on Nov. 7th at Elgin Community Room from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This sale of reasonably priced educational toys includes a wide range of learning toys, puzzles, arts and crafts, science kits and much more. This is an ideal opportunity for parents and grandparents to view an excellent assortment of unique Christmas gift ideas. We hope that the community will keep these dates in mind and come out to support us in our fundraising endeavours, so that our children may continue to enjoy and benefit from the experiences which Nursery School offers them. There are still vacancies in both junior and senior classes. 'Children can join the class at any time during the school year on either a part or full time basis.
