8 LYNDHURST UCW The September meeting of the Lyndhurst UCW was held at the home of Ruth Galway. The president welcomed everyone to the meeting. A moment of silence was held in memory of Lillian Covey. Has") Gilfillen was in charge of the devotional. She read an article entitled, "Silver Trays" and the devotional closed with the Lord's Prayer. The offering was taken and dedicated. The roll call was answered by 14 members and the minutes of last meeting read and approved. Moved that the bill the installation of new window be paid. A thank you card from Arnold, Rose and Charles Covey was read and Marion thanked the members for their help with the bake sale and lunches served. Information about the child we sponsor in Barbodos was passed around. Moved that we send him a Christmas gift. The meeting closed with the repeating of the Benediction. A delicious lunch was served. for the K‘I'DNEY FOUNDATION OF CANADA Edna and Lou Harris hosted a lunch at their home on August 30th for those who canvassed last March on behalf of the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Special guests were Derek Shaw, a past president of the Kingston Chapter, and his wife Margaret, a past treasurer. Mr. Shaw told the canvassers that the Kingston Chapter received $112,000. during the March Campaign and ranked third in the nation. Ottawa was first and Toronto second. He further advised that $60,000. of the amount was given as a grant to a Kingston doctor to aid him in his research into kidney disease. Canvassers are needed in the Lansdowne area.
