The meeting opened with the singing of O Canada with Millie McFadden at the piano. The minutes were read by Margaret Keith and were adopted as read. She told us there were some interesting items in the Voice that we should read. Freda asked Mabel Mainse to give a report on the visit to the Lombard Manor that 7 members enjoyed. The rates are $27.50 a day, but some adjustment could be made, a run goes to Smith Falls every day. There is an elevator for those who need it. Everything seemed in good order. They were served a delicious lunch. Millie was asked if she would be telephone convenor again, she accepted. Orvin Martin mentioned some activities at the Legion. We also received an invitation to their Christmas dinner on Dec.lZ, social hour 1â€"2 and dinner 2-4. They asked if we would supply the dessert table and sing again. Everyone agreed we would. We are having a practice at our next pot luck on Nov. 2.7. Fred Stewart moved to give our usual donation to the Legion at the Christmas dinner , seconded by Ernie Grigsby. It was moved by Marjorie MacIntyre and seconded by Rae Lee that we bring a donation of food to our next meeting for the Christmas basket. Ernie informed us the Gananoque Senior Citizens are having their Christmas dinner on Dec.9 at 6 pm, $9.00 a plate at the Legion Hall and we are invited. He also told us their bazaar was a great success. In 1988 Ernie would like to arrange some euchre tournaments between the different clubs. It was suggested by Mary Davies that there should be three on the lunch committee for the bus. meeting, all were in favour. Happy Birthday was sung to Rae Lee, Eulah Mainse, and Jeanne Rodgers.
