OUTREAC H NEIGHBOU RS The Philipsville Outreach Neighbours held their monthly dinner on Feb 4th despite the weather we had a real good turn out. The hall was for heart Valentine's day. A lot of work goes into making the place mats, and decorated month and other decorations Anna Greenhorn and her helpers, Eileen Guild and Myrtle Taylor, in making them and setting up the tables. Mae Elliott is another one who helps. Mary Sutcliffe introduced the guest speaker Mary Klyndramer. Mary spoke on the care of your feet, and stressed that everyone attend the foot clinics in the area, if you have problem feet; without good feet it is hard to do much. Mary spoke on drugs and the after effects they can have on some if not taken the way you are told, and it helps to wear a medic-alert tag or bracelet so if you are hurt, those attending you will. know what to do. Mary had a timer you can carry on you to let you know when to take your pills if you have a problem keeping track of the time, also a pill splitter for those on half a pill. Also she had a container where you can put your days pills in each part and you won't be taking to many. One , thing Mary told everyone, that is worth knowing is\if you have trouble takiflggv‘the tops off these new child proof containers where you push down and turn the tops, If you ask Mary or her helpers and sign a paper she can give you the snap on tops. She left pamphlets to take home on "diabetes over 60" and other problems. A vote of thanks was extended to Mary. Mr. McKenny had the special mat and received a gift, other small gifts were given to those with a birthday in Feb. Veda Bolton, meal planner for this month, and her helpers, put on a delicious dinnera Anna Greenhom said Gracebuefore the dinner. Next dinner March 3rd. Mary Sutcliffe had just returned home from Australia and New‘ Zealand and while in New Zealand she contacted a penpal of Lydia Tackaberry, and she sent home a piece of wedding cake as she had been married recently.
