Detachment's officers have been transferred to neighbouring Detachments to take up new duties. During their posting in Westport, they had a combined service of over forty years to the citizens of this area. They are Staff-Sergeant Fred KNAPP, transferred to Perth OPP District Headquarters as Traffic Supervisor; Corporal Dave WILLIS, transferred to the Sharbot Lake OPP Detachment; Provincial Constable Jim MCGLADE, transferred to Perth District Headquarters as District In-Service Training officer; and Prcvincial Constable Bob DOAK, transferred to Perth District Headquarters as the District Dive Master for the OPP S.C.U.B.A. team. A special night has been planned for February 20th, 1988, at the Westport Legion so that the members of the public may ' show their appreciation to these men for their work done in the Westport O.P.P. Detachment. A dinner and dance will be held that evening.
