The WIREANDPLUMB" Tempest welcomed 16 members to our lst business meeting in 1988. The meeting opened with all members singing the National Anthem, meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer. The Invocation was said by all. Freda presented Everett Elliott with an Honourary membership. He joined the club when it first started in 1973 and has been a faithful member eversince having been the President more than once. Valerie Hartley gave the Treasurer report. It was moved by Ernest Gregsby and seconded by Gladys Luck that the report be adopted. Two of our members Manford & Hazel Berry are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. A card was passed around and everyone signed it, wishing them many more years of Health and Happiness. Anyone that wanted to be an associate member of the Gananoque Club paid their dues to Ernest. It certainly has been great being an associate member of that club. Happy Birthday was Sung to Mabel Mainse. She gave us a little story on how her life began, which was interesting. Freda reported that Reg Taupe was in the hospital with phlebitis and that Theresa Stewart wasn't well. She also wished Doug Moore a speedy recovery who is in the hospital. Orvin Martin reported the desserts that were left over from the Xmas dinner was taken to the Seeleys Bay Lodge and how much the people enjoyed them especially was answered by ID members. We were pleased to have Miriam Greene and little Bri Anna Gordanier as our visitors. The minutes were read and treasurer's report given. Collection for the day was given. The winners of our grocery hamper draw at the Rideau Craft Christmas Market were Jack 8 Rita Jones of Seeleys Bay. A donation was handed in to the Salvation Army. A nice amount of money was made at the Christmas Craft Market. Christmas cards were signed for Mrs. Bryan. Mrs. Phyllis Nolan and a Birthday card and Christmas card for Mrs. Dora Langridge. A Christmas gift will be given to Mrs. ,Phyllis Nolan. Plants will be given to Mrs. Dora Langridge and Mrs. Winnie Bryan. Bishop Hunt's visit was discussed and information was passed around. there will be a meeting at Mary Deans on Dec. l0. Joan Read will make the next Communion loaves. A thank you is extended to John Glover for refinishing the outside Church doors. Carol read a thank you from the Youth Group. A donation for the Children's Christmas candy was given. Jean Roantree thanked the members for her get well card. We will hold meetings in the months of July and August instead of the months of January and February. The Birthday Box was opened. Joan Tye is our president. There was a sale of Arts and Crafts items. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mabel Standen.
