SW in???» YOUR COUNCIL AT WORK Bastard and South Burgess Since the last report the Clerk-Treasurer, Shirley Bryden, Park Superintendent Bud Donald 'and Councillor Anna Greenhorn attended the Partners for Community Recreation Seminar in Ottawa on May 17. This was an excellent seminar. Ministry is to work with the municipalities as partners to get the maximum return for public dollars invested in the recreation system. At the local level, teams anticipating a need for equipment should inform the Recreation Committee by midâ€"June so plans can be made for the 1989 season. Another seminar is coming up on June 1. This one is for the Designated Property Grants Programme. In order to be eligible to participate in this programme a Municipality must send 3 members of IACAC, the Clerkâ€"Treasurer and the Building Inspector. Our Township did this last year with very satisfactory and profitable results Some of our township pins found their way to the Soviet Union along with a greeting from our Municipality. These were taken by our RDHS student goodwill ambassadors. We have been informed by the LLBO that demands for special occasion permits in some «cases now require less responsibility on the part of the Municipality and more on the part of the organizers. Speaking of permits â€" don't forget the Burning Permits! Anything more than a Barâ€"Bâ€"Q requires a permit. Dates for the Rabies Clinics have been finalized. They will be held at the Municipal Building, Chantry, on June 8 and June 22 from 1 to 5 P.M. Expect to see' the paving contractor on Younge's Hill anytime now - Tackaberry Construction will be completing the work in their usual capable manner. If you have a derelict car or two clutering up your yard, ' Robert Perrin will pick them up free of charge. Just call 1â€"926â€"2174. Council accepted the lowest Of four tenders for a Security System which will be installed 'by the time you read this. D.
