Alcohol was involved in four (4) of the nine fatalities investigated. 5.9% of all accidents investigated in the'district since January 1988, indicated that the driver had been drinking. The R.I.D.E. These locations will be determined by accident statistics, detachment problem areas and special events. In addition to the ongoing R.I.D.E. program already being conducted on a year round basis by regular detachment personnel in No. 10 District, this new R.I.D.E. Team will utilize three specially equipped police vehicles. Each vehicle will have a portable roadside screening device on board and will have a special sign on the roof indicating R.I.D.E. Each officer will wear a flourescent orange vest, a universal symbol for traffic safety. We sincerely hope that with this R.I.D.E. incentive, impaired driving eventually will become a thing of the past in No. 10 District. O.P.P, cutcxsme.
