The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Motion was passed that the General Office Accounts in the amount of $200,580.78 be accepted and paid. Reeve Smith advised Council that Zane Bell from Ministry of the Environment had visited the Municipal Office on Friday, September 16th, 1988 to discuss Township of South Crosby waste disposal site. Mr. Bell suggested that Township enter Waste Management Improvement Program for funding to update study on our current Waste Disposal Site. This has to be done to be eligible to have our Certificate of approval to operate renewed. Reeve Smith alSO' advised of other areas in which these funds might be used. Resolution was passed that the Council agree to enter into a Waste Management Improvement Program Contract with the Ministry of Environment as per the attached Schedule A. Ms. McDermaid and Ms. Warren attended council meeting to discuss with council members the matter of restoration and preservation of township records. Ms. McDerm aid made a presentation to council regarding the storing of township records at Queen's University Archives; that Queen's University Archives would be happy to provide this service for South Crosby; that the township retains full ownership of all records; that the township is provided with a micro film copy of all records stored at the Archives, and they would probably be able to do all copying early in 1989; the Agreement and appropriate byâ€"law is to be prepared for council's consideration at next meeting. Motion was passed that Road Voucher No. 17, in the amount of $4,839.89 be accepted and paid. Road Superintendant gave his report. Information received from Ministry of Transport concerning traffic counts which were done by M.T.O. in August was given to council for their perusal. Council were also advised that a second traffic count will be done this fall, in October. Motion was passed that the Council agree to hold a special meeting on Tuesday, September 20th, 1988 at 1:00 p.m., at the Municipal Office. The meeting is called to discuss road access with Mr. Art Gordanier. Information regarding Recycling Ninth Annual Conference was presented to Council. Anyone who is interested in attending conference is to contact the Clerk. Motion was passed that the Day Camp Coâ€"ordinator be paid an honourarium of NORTH LEEDS LANTERN is to be paid from Day Camp funds. Councillor Jane Monaghan presented a report to Council of her attendance at the 1988 Biennial Conference, which related to the Association of Conservation Authorities of Ontario. Discussion was held by Council regarding financial support of the Rideau Canal Museum. It was suggested that new Council might consider this matter at the time of preparation of 1989 budget. Letter received from Environment Canada concerning proposed dredging by Mr. Yateman was presented to Council for consideration and comment. Letter is to be written to Parks Canada and advise that Council have no objections to same. Councillor Phyllis Connell reported that she had attended a meeting of the Rideau Medical Centre, and points of interest were that they may be asking for two representative from Council, to sit on said committee, and that they are considering an expansion to the Medical Centre. 7 $750 for services provided to operate the Day Camp program.
