MCManus & A. Greenhorn Winter's coming and for that end council accepted the tender of Allan Gifford for snow removal on the extension of William Street, Delta. Council accepted with a great deal of pleasure a cheque from the Nonâ€"Prof it Housing Corporation for $130,000. This has been returned to the reserve accounts from which it came. A byâ€"law was passed dedicating Polk Crescent as a highway. This is a formality which completes an agreement between the Township and the Developer. A request was made to Small Craft Harbours branch of Oceans and Fisheries to repair and also extend the dock at Portland. The response to the Housing Survey was greater than expected and has been handed to the Nonâ€"Profit Housing Corporation to pursue. From the number of appl icat ions for zoning byâ€"law amendments, it appears that the building boom in Bastard & South Burgess is continuing at a good pace. Council was delighted to have a large number of interested citizens in attendance to hear and express opinions on these . Council invited proposals for the engineering work leading to rebuilding of William Street in Delta and the sidewalk from the Glen Chant residence to William Street and from William Street to Main Street. This will be the last time one of the contributors to this column will be writing it. I have enjoyed working on this column with Anna Greenhorn and in producing the column. I wish the new Council of Bastard & South Burgess every success during the next three years. P.
