4 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN MARCH 1992 DELTA ATHLETIC AND RECREATIONAL SOCIETY The monthly meeting of the DARS was held at the Recreation Centre Monday February 3 at 7:00 p.m. with a small attendance. The secretary's and trea- surer's reports were read and approved. It was agreed we pay all outstanding bills. We decided to hire someone to build a much needed trophy case and to install rods for our used clothing room. Due to the fact that we have had ice since early December a very successful winter program has been carried on. Many thanks to the young people, who use the faciâ€" lities the most, for their cooperation and to the few but dedicated volunâ€" teers who have helped supervise. Yearly memberships ' are selling exceptionally well, and the ice has been rented several times. We have been pleased to have the support of the Beverley Elementary School again this year. This kind of support is needed to maintain a proâ€" gram and is much appreciâ€" ated. A Tops N Trends clothing party will be held at the Recreation Centre on Wednesday March 11, 1992 at 7:00 p.m. The DARS will receive a perâ€" centage of all sales. Everyone is invited. Come out and join in an evening of fun. The Recreation Centre will again be open on the second and fourth Sunday of each month beâ€" ginning on March 11, 1992 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with our used clothing sale. There is now a good selec- tion of used clothes in- cluding childrens. All donations of clean nearly new clothes, also toys, are being accepted. Next months meeting will be held at the Recreation Centre Monday March 2, 1992 at 7:00 p.m. This month's agenda will consist of plans for The Delta Maple Syrup Festival. Come out and volunteer your help and suggestions. Hopefully, Iva, our regular reporter will be back from the south by next month.
