Anyone wishing to donate fairly new used clothing (adults and children), toys, etc. may do so by dropping these off at the Recreation Centre or getting in touch with Helena Phillips. Our D.A.R.S. meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Centre, everyone is welcome, so why not come on out and join us. 50â€"50 tickets, to help raise money for D.A.R.S. are now on sale and are selling really well. Membership passes for rink use, are now being made up for the year. Anyone interested in these passes, please contact Helena Phillips in Delta. Do come on out and enjoy these facilities. Membership fees are as Competition in the local schools is now ending, judging will commence and winners announced' in due time. Four Comrades will represent the branch at the Zone Gâ€"2 Euchre Tournament in Brockville on November 23, 1991. Darts on Sunday afternoon is again very popular. The Annual Children's Christmas Party coâ€"sponsored by the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Portland Firemen Assoc. will be held at the Community Hall on Saturday, December 14, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. All area children are invited to see Santa and receive some treats. The Annual Ham Bingo will be held at the Legion Hall on Tuesday, December 17, 1991. A New Years Eve dance will be held at the Legion "The History of the bow“, as her topic for the program. We were given a brief outline on the various contributions, made to the Church in the past 30 years, and a very applicable Ballad of the UCW was read. A Stewardship of Giving was read and to sum up a very interesting program, a thought for today was given - "If you have grown because of someone, help someone grow because of you". President, Irma Chant closed the meeting with prayer. A tasty lunch served by Leora Raison was enjoyed by all. Appreciation was extended to the hostess and all who had helped.
