TOWNSHIP OF REAR OF LEEDS 8L LANSDOWNE ST. JOHN'S ACW The November meeting held at the home of Jean Roantree opened with the Lord's Prayer, followed by Prayer #3 from the ACW Book. Ruth Anna Glover read the Scripture St. Mark 12: 38â€"44. Mabel Standen read the Meditation and all members repeated the Prayer. Roll call was answered by 9 members, who answered with a verse of St. John, containing the word "Love“. The October minutes were read and approved. Denise Gordanier gave the treasurer's report and» the collection was taken. A nice sum of money was made at our October Arts and Crafts Fair and Fall Rummage Sale. A thank you card will be‘ sent to Elaine Bryan to express our heartâ€"felt thanks for her lovely crafts and time she provides at our Arts and Crafts. The ACW will give Miriam Houghton a Christmas Gift Certificate from the Glen House on the Parkway, in appreaciation for playing our Church organ. Each lady will make 2 dozen cookies to send to Carveth Nursing Home in Gananoque, and one extra dozen cookies to *be divided among ourselves at our Christmas Party. In place of a Christmas Gift exchange, we will give money to- an "Almost Home", house in Kingston, for parents with sick children in the hospital. The December roll call will be answered with the word "Glory". The December meeting will be held at the home of Eleanor wills. Meeting closed with Grace. Etta leoer and Denise Gordanier served a lovely lunch. ‘ etty Tudor, a pubkeeper from Exeter, En- gland, finally gave up trying to get a driv- er’s license. She had taken 273 driving lessons during the past 19 years and ulti- mately had been barred from at least three driving schools.
