All members joined in prayer. Denise Gordanier read Scripture St. Mark 9: 30â€"37. Roll call was answered by 8 members and we were pleased to have Isabel Cipson as our visitor. The August minutes were read and approved. Denise Gordanier gave the treasurer's report and collection was taken. Interval House in Kingston sent a note thanking the ACW for clothes from the May Rummage Sale. Carol Jacob read a letter from Marjorie. Jackson, telling of the Leeds and Grenville Area Meeting to be held in Holy Trinity Church, Merrickville. Carol Jacob will call Carl Willard to ask for a donation of four dozen doughnuts for the Arts and Crafts Fair, and she will place posters in the Elgin area. Carol will also call Marjorie Jackson to ask who is convenor of the Pakestan Embroideries. It is in favour to have the 1992 Arts and Crafts Fair. The October roll call will be answered with a verse from St. John and the meeting will be held at Suzanne Gatenby's home. The meeting closed prayer. Darlene a lovely lunch. The October meeting was held at the home of Suzanne Gatenby. The meeting opened with the ACW Prayer, followed by the Thanksgiving Prayer. with served Meditation was read and members joined in prayer. Denise Gordanier read a note from Jean Roantree, thanking the ACW for the birthday party and cards given to Charlie on his 80th birthday. Etta Glover and Eleanor paid their birthday Darlene Bakeless wills money for October. Lake paid the Bake Sale money. St. Jonh's ACW are asked to provide cookies and squares for the Bryan memorial window service. The meeting closed with the ACW prayer and Suzanne served a lovely lunch assisted by Darlene Lake. ST. LUKES ACW LYNDHURST The October meeting opened in the home of Betty Hudson with seven members present. Invocation, Scripture reading Mathew 6: 25â€"33 (Lilies of the field), A Fertile Planet overflowing with Life, taken from the Anglican Magazine. Roll call was answered by each member with a verse of scripture containing the word ”Reap". "Shepherd" will be the word for November. A thank you note was read from Marjories Hughes, and a thank you note from Kendricks Park Day Camp the donation given in the spring. Treasurer's report was given by Jean Lafferty. Birthday money was collected from four members and 25 calendars are on sale. Ten 1992 Heritage books by Edna McCann were sold at the meeting. Retreat day of Prayer Parish of Leeds Rear was held October 5. for DOW Jean reported having a very pelasant and interesting day at the Merrickville area meeting. Helena Hannah spoke to a large group. Collars from Portugal and Pakestan Embroidery were on display for sale. Sunday are much Parish. School teachers needed for the Nearly New Shop will open November 29â€" 30 for the first Fall Sale. The November meeting will be held at Hilda Talboys' home 7 November at 8:00 p.m. with no other business the meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer and Grace. A Penny Auction was enjoyed by all. Lunch was served by Betty, sandwiches sent by Marjorie. Hilda Talboys. President, Audrey Welch welcomed everyone and opened proceedings with a poem. The UCW purpose was read in unison. Iva Sweet led the devotional with the theme "Thanksgiving". Ruby Sweet and Helen Moorhead assisted with the reading and the hymn "Come Ye Thankful People, Come", was sung. The Devotional closed with prayer, the offering was taken and dedicated by Mary Townsend. Roll call answered by 13 ladies each giving a reason to be thankful. Minutes were read and Hazel Gilfillen read the treasurer's report. Business and correspondence were dealt with and reports from the Fall Rally in Westport. Mary Townsend gave a report on Stewardship. Plans were made for the Christmas Bazaar to be held on Saturday, November 9. ’ The Bible will be sent to Peru this month. Each person will bring a donation for the food bank. Our November meeting will be held in the afternoon. Helen Moorhead moved that the meeting be adjourned and a delicious lunch was served by Ruby and Helen. Marian Warren thanked all who participated.
