Our major awards are the Myers Scholarships, founded on the intent and bequest of the late John Myers of Portland. These three scholarships each have a value of $750.00 and are granted to worthy Rideau graduates of this year who are pursuing further studies in university, community college or agricultural college. This year's at the recipients graduation exercises were Karen Pollard of Westport who is attending Loyalist College, Cathy Keates of Elgin who is enroled at the University of Western ontario and Tania Halladay of Delta who is pursuing her studies at Centennial College. In addition, a fourth Simpson Masonic Lodge Myers Scholarship valued at $750.00 was granted this year to one of last year's recipients.
