She read the the September meeting, which were appr- oved as read,June reminded June was minutes of us of the need to knit for preemies and that wool would be supplied if needed. she also revâ€" iewed the Buddy System list and reminded all about the Bake Table at the Craft Sale October 3lst and the Food Bank jar. The Secretary read a letter of resignation from the kitchen committee Glady s McConnell and Rae Lee, a thank you note from Zone secretary, Leita Burt, with a cheque for expenses. Treasurer Valeria gave her report. June stated the new Pres- ident of the zone is Lawrence Yateman. A thank you note was read from Glady s McConnell for sympathy extended at the time of her husband's death. June introduced Bruce Foster, who repreâ€" sented the Citizen's Adviâ€" sory Comm. from Joyceville Penitentiary a was taken to two of the inmates to our November vote invite Pot Luck. Our next Pot Luck is October 23rd after adjournment, some stayed to play cards. Freda Tempest ST. PETER'S ACW SE ELEV’S BAV- The October 6 meeting of the St.Peter's Anglican Church Women was held at Jenny Goodier's house with 12 plus one visitor present. The meeting opened with the Worship Service led by Mary Dean and Vera Bennett. Hymn 310â€"1 will Sing of the Mercies at the Lord for Ever and 312 Great is the Faithâ€" fulness was sung. Mary led us in a Thankfulness Prayer. Then Vera presâ€" ented part of a tape from the AWARE CONFERENCE (standing for " Anglican Women's Alive, Renewed and Enriched") The speaker was a teacher from British Columbia, Maudine Fee, who reminded us that we were chosen people even if we don't always think so, Mary read the scripture and singled out Peter 4:10 to tell us to use what gift we have for the glory of God. She went on to exhort us to use the gifts because God calls us to do so. She then gave us a questionnaire to fill out and return next month to see where are gifts are. The Business followed, The minutes were read by Gail Moore and approved as read. The bord to be held October 28th from 4:30 to 7:30 adults $7.00 and children $3.50 in the Legion Hall, was discussed as well as the Rummage Sale to be held at St. Luke's Hall Lyndhurst Friday the 23rd of October and Saturday the 24th. We were told there would be refreshments after each church service. We were informed that Ethelene Tye's 80th birth- day was the l4th of October and it was decided to get togehter and celebrate it at the lodge at lunchâ€" time that day. The October meeting was held at the home of Darlene Lake. The meeting opened with the ACW Prayer. Ruth Anna Glover read the scripture, St.Luke 1:67â€"75. Roll call was answered by 8 members. The collecâ€" tion was taken. Bakeless bake Sale money was handed in by all members present and Bonnie Mutch. Carol Jacob handed in her grocery items and a donation for the bake table for the Fall Rummage Sale to be held on October 23 and 24 in the Parish Hall, Lyndhurst. Tables are full for our October Arts and Crafts Fair. Items were handed in for the Harvest Basket draw to be held at the Fair, from Swans Variety, Ballantyne's Pharmacy, in Athens. Carol Jacob gave a jar of chili sauce she will work at the Rumâ€" mage Sale and Crafts Fair. The meeting closed with the Thanksgiving Litany. The November meeting will be held in the afternoon, at Etta Glover or Denise Gordaniers. Suzanne Gatenby precided over the October ACW. Darlene Lake Served a lovely lunch assisted by Etta Glover.
