10 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN NOVEMBER 1992 LVNDHURST UCW Our meeting was held on October 6 in the evening. President, Audrey Welch welcomed everyone and we repeated the UCW Purpose in unison. Betty Moorhead held the Devotional the theme "Thanksgiving" Betty opened the devotional with hymn # 577 " Come ye thankful people come. Scripture was read from Psalm chapter 8. Following the devotional hymn #579 "We plough the fields and scatter was sung closing with prayer. Roll call was answered by 13 ladies and 2 guests. Lillian Hibert of Toronto and Fran Delallo from the village. Offering was received and dedicated by Audrey. Betty read the minutes from the last meeting, Velma Kelsey read the treasure's report. Correspondence was read including a letter from the Observer. The bible from the Bible a month Club will be sent to Indonesia. The meeting was adjourned, followed by benediction. Our guest speaker was Fran DeLallo, who demonstrated her product "Pie Partners" distributed by Fasmodia Inc. Lyndhurst Ont. There are pie partners now out for pies, chicken and pizza. The products are being sold at various hardware stores. Audrey thanked Fran for her demonstration, which made us all want to rush out and buy her products. LUKE'S ACW LVNDHUHST The October 1 ACW meeting was held at the home of Hilda Tallboy's , Betty Hudson asked the members to read Thanksgiving prayer prayers for Work and Stewardship. Betty then read from Thankâ€" sgiving "Ideals" Key to Joy and one humorous writ- ing " when Father carves the Duck“ The ACW prayer was said by all. Marjorie read a book marker verse "Don't whine". A poem brought by Vera McElroy "I forget" was also read. Treasurer's report was given. Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. A report was given from the area meeting, Trinity Church Brockville, Roll call was answered by six members with a word Sake, in a verse of scripture, the word for November will be Salvation. Betty handed out Rummage Sale Rosters for '92/‘93 to be held October 23- 24 Parish of Leeds Rear, Anglican Parish Hall Lynd- hurst, Ontario. St.Lukes Day will be a combined Service 18th October 10:00 am looking forward to St. Barnabus Bell Choir as guests. An evening taken from prayer was prayers for work and Stewardship, The Lord's Prayer and Dismissal were said by all members.
