12 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN JANUARY/FEBRUARY 1990 SEELEY'S BAY SENIORS Twenty two members attended the December business meeting of the Seeley's Bay Seniors. Orvin Martin, our president, welcomed all. Everyone united in singing "O Canada" and then sang "Happy Birthday" to Linda Horsey. Secretary June Goodwins read the minutes of the November meeting which were approved. She then read a letter from the government in reply to the protest about reducing pensions. The Treasurer, Valera Hartley, gave her report, which was approved as read. Ernie Grigsby read an article from the magazine, Fiftyâ€"five Plus, about one of our members, Jean Rogers, who makes excellent Orange Marmalade. The members signed Christmas cards for Everett Elliott and George Hill, who are now in nursing homes. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction, followed by refreshments and cards. Seeley's Bay Seniors held their business meeting January 12. with 19 members present. In the absence of President, Orvin Martin, Viceâ€"President, Margaret Keith, chaired the meeting. After welcoming the members, she asked them to join in singing "O Canada" and "Happy Birthday" to Gladys McConnell. Secretary June Goodwins read the minutes of the December meeting, which were approved as read. She read a Christmas greeting from Chaffey's Lock Seniors and called attention to an article in Voice Magazine. Treasurer Valera Hartley gave her report which was approved. It was suggested that June send a letter of thanks to the Legion for the delicious dinner served to us in December. Mrs. Wecdmark remarked about the importance. of Vomitier‘s and the hours of Work they do that often goes unnoticed by the community they represent . Joan 'l‘ye, Chairâ€" person of the Recreation tonunittee thanked the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Lyndhurst Legion for the. wonderful buffet they served. The evening was enjoyed by all.
