"The CIBC manager came up from Thunder Bay and spent a fair bit of time trying to reassure me that all of this stuff will be cleared up, and that they're doing the best job they can from Thunder Bay," she says. "I really have to give him a lot of credit for making the effort because I know he's backlogged in Thunder Bay." But even if the problems in getting New Venture loan replies are solved, Long says she still preferred the way things were done before. "Gone are the days when you could phone up (local CIBC bank manager) Bryon (Cassie) and say 'Look Bryon, I'm having a little bit of difficulty, could you not bounce any cheques for a couple of days, and I'll be in later to straighten everything out,"" says Long.
