This Cessna light aircraft missed the runway at the Terrace Bay Airport on May 21 and crashed in a near- by field. Its pilot was not seriously injured, but the plane was ruined beyond repair. Two workmen pull- Penner praises CT Commission Cochrane-Superior MP Keith Penner has com- mended the Canadian Transport Commission (CTC) for their report on derailments and collisions in a recent news release. It is noted in the report that both Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific (CP) have been reducing managerial and supervisory staff less rapidly than the workforce as a whole. "There is a great deal wrong with Canada's Railway systems," Penner said. "Obviously one pro- blem is that we have too many paper pushers and not enough rail employees looking after roadbeds, tracks and rolling stock. At last the CTC has caught up with common knowledge," he added. Plane crashed ed the plane out of the field a few days later and are shown here taking the craft apart before towing it away to be sold for parts. No further details were released about the incident. Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, June 4, 1986, page 9 Company a success By Conrad Felber (This is the conclusion of an article on the Spadoni Brothers company. which began on page 12 of last week's issue of the News.) Although the past has been good and the present is pleasant for the com- pany, Schreiber sales man- ager Pat Spadoni sees an even brighter future, with a number of projects in the planning stages or about to begin. "*We are looking at an expansion here in Schreib- er soon," he explained. "*We have the plans for it, with six months available now to have a look at them."' A new sales department and show room will be es- tablished at the company's car lot in Marathon, he added. Long range plans include the expansion of the automobile sales part of the company throughout its holdings in the North Shore area. Some changes have al- ready taken place, with the addition of a new computer system just over a year ago at the Schreiber main off- ice, Spadoni explained. He also pointed out that the computer takes care of all accounts receivable and accounts payable, and has made things much easier for the local office staff. The system is also respons- ible for the company's in- ventory and even handles the constantly changing car leasing and rental informat- ion. Spadoni said that the company will also upgrade its buildings and "refine" things more and more over the next few years, with the fourth family generation coming in eventually. The company, no doubt, will continue to expand and prosper. Gino Spadoni and his brothers would be pleased. (A slightly different ver- sion of this story will ap- pear in a future Northern Ontario Business issue.)
