Presently we do not know if the interest is sufficient to offer any of these programs, and for some of them we do not have an instructor. Please call now if you are interested in any of these courses as Bicentennial grants to unorganized communities Five local Services Boards have jumped on the bandwagon early to start plans for commun- ity-based celebrations for Ontario's Bicenten- nial in 1984. Grants of $500 are available through the Ministry of Northern Af- fairs to Local Services Boards in unorganized communities to assist them in developing pro- jects recognizing the Bi- centennial theme. Northern Affairs Min- ister Leo Bernier an- nounced grants will be going to Nestor Fails, Armstrong, Hurkett, Caramat and Rossport. Nestor Falls, with a population of 315, will host a community dance with a historical theme. The community of Hurkett, northeast of Thunder Bay, will mark the Bicentennial with a summer-end picnic in August next year. The Local Services Board in Rossport plans to put its Bicentennial grant to work, making improvements to the community's Wardrope park, so a_ family- style field day can be held. Caramat's annual Sil- ver Fish Derby held in mid-July will take on a - new flavour for On- tario's Bicentennial. The community of 265 is making efforts to contact former residents to join in a homecoming cele- bration.
