- Letter send to the CPR station in Schreiber, Ontario regarding the pleasing appearance of the the station grounds that were created and maintained by Louis Halonen.
The letter reads:
"Dear Sir,
I have just passed your station but have not yet got
over the thrill of seeing your garden-the best I have ever seen at
a railway station anywhere on this continent or abroad. I shall
always remember it. Particularly the grass: How did you get such
such a velvety lawn?
I heard many expression of pleasure from the
passengers and thought you should know of the delight such a spot
gives the traveller upon coming out of a long drawn-out wilderness.
Yours Truly, Henry Francis Hine Turrington, Conecticut, USA

I have written to the General Manager about this."
