This is the Chinese National League float from the Coronation Day Parade in Fort William, May 10, 1937. I believe that the street in this instance is Simpson Street, as it resembles the edifices along that road, and the building on the left is clearly a pool hall which used to cover up their windows 3/4 of the way. Which pool hall on Simpson I do not know but I do know that there were many there. Perhaps someone can check the street in Henderson's Directory for 1937 - it appears that the building on the right has something to do with James Murphy Coal Co. BTW the Chinese float won first prize in the "Non-Anglo Saxon" category for floats :)
