- Private William J. Dean (regimental number 27183) volunteered for the 15th Battalion CEF (Canadian Expeditionary Force) during WWI. He passed away on May 25th 1916 at the age of 35 after being wounded by shrapnel. He was the son of Alfred Ernest and Elizabeth Dean and is buried at Harley Cemetery.
