Description
The Howell families were among the early settlers of Trafalgar Township. The 1841 Census shows that Sampson Howell, farmer, proprieter came to Lot 24, 1st Conc S.D.S. in 1806 and that his wife and 4 children were Canadian born. His relative, John T. Howell, farmer, proprietor, took Lot 23, 1st Conc S.D.S., and his wife and 5 children were Canadian born. The Howell men came from the United States.

These lots were on the Dundas Highway, just west of the Sixteen Mile Creek. Jonathan Howell is listed in the 1858 Census.
