One of eight After a thorough survey of the area, one of eight helicopters which were involved in fighting a forest fire near Terrace Bay on May 21 left the site once the blaze had been brought under control. A number of water bombers were also brought in to battle the flames, which at one point threatened several homes in the town. Few exceptions The forest fire which ravaged an area 250 hectares in size to the east of Terrace Bay on May 21 spared few jackpine trees, and this one was no exception, as its bark and branches were completely scorched.
