Page 2, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, May 1, 1985 Bits and Bil by Helene Ballard Well, it's that time again' so here goes. We had another 'busy week here at Birchwood. Saturday night we had a "Maritimes" night. Our _fec room was decorated to look like a waterfront cafe: fish nets, sea shells and even a huge lobster (stuff- ed) but which looked good enough to eat. Music was provided by Beth Neely and Ed Barry with a violin selection by one of the residents, Bill Dodds. A lovely lunch was served by the ladies of the Birchwood Auxiliary. We wished to thank these ladies for all their work on our behalf. They always give so much of themselves for us, and we want them to know we are indeed grateful. On Wed. night we had a visit by the Terrace Bay Tumblers. These children are indeed doing well in this sport, I tell you wat- ching these children made some of us oldsters wish we were young again. I would like to thank Betty Tate who is in charge of these youngsters, for bring- ing them to perform for us, and do please come again. Pam Jones and Lil Belliveau were the hostesses for this event. On Wednesday morning Mr. Felix Legault and yours truly went to the Public School to teach a class in 'Flower Making"'. This proved to be en- joyable. The class was anx- ious to be able to make these flowers and the pupils were able to keep the flowers they made. Some of them said they would give them to their mothers, and as May 12th is Mother's Day I think this will please the mothers. Mr. and Mrs. Des Miller were there also to teach a class some of the art of jewellery making. All this was part of "Education Week'"' and we enjoyed the 2 'hours spent there. Now I would like to say a warm "hello and welcome back" to Marge and Scotty Hamilton. Sure will be nice to have a chat over a cup of Java. Instead of a bite this week I would like to make an appeal to you good folks on behalf of the Terrace Bay Ski Club. These young people want to be able to use the ski slope and are willing to work in that direction, but a helping hand and loads of en- couragement sure would mean a lot, so how about : whe, a8 Mega? talk directly to travel company ~ Emile Miron We offer you Canadian Quality products and colours Personalized Service FREE. 1-800-465-3939 Your travel number Why look anywhere else for your dream kitchen?
