Buddy & the Fellers gave a great concert by Rob Cotton The News The crowd won't soon forget Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers after their recent concert at"Lake Superior High School. These three comic- musicians from Newfoundland, with a marvellous mix of music and humour, created an atomsphere that evoked memories of a circle of friends and family around the kitchen table on a late Saturday night. They. played traditional music of Newfoundland, along with folk, country, a little bluegrass and some music of their own making. However, this band performed it all with their own musical style and flair which included some great Canadian satire and parody. In no time the audience was laughing at the band, at the government and at themselves. Kevin Blackmore's Buddy was a true clown, getting laughs just by entering the auditorium. He was wearing a strange mix 'n match of checks, stripes, plaids and colors that fortold of things to come. Buddy, with his high energy and twisted logic led the audience through a night of music and laughter that left them feeling happy and relaxed. Wayne Chaulk, the 'Other Feller' playing guitar and Ray Johnson, the other "Other Feller' playing accordion, were the perfect staight men for Buddy's absolutely zany antics. The Terrace Bay-Schreiber Concert Series brought Buddy Whatisname and the Other. Fellers to the area. The next concert, March 18, features. Lenny Solomon Trio.
