Terrace Bay Recreation Depart Apology Extended We wish to apologize to E.W. Paget- Barrister, for unintention- ally omitting his name from the list of businesses who financially - assisted the North Shore Directors' Atom Hockey Jamboree. Our apologies Ted. Curtis Desrosiers made the donation to the Atom Jamboree, not Dave Desrosiers & Sons, as indicated in a previous ad. Our apologies Curtis. National Coaching Certification Level 1- Theory Coaching Clinic The Terrace Bay Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Level 1 Theory Coaching Clinic on February 12th, 13th and 14th, 1988. The N.C.C.P. is the 'coaching of coaches' program. It is an edu- cational learning program for coaches and is designed to make the reward of coaching that much better. The more the coaches get out of coaching the more their ath- letes will get out of their sport. This 14-hour program will be held at the recreation centre in Terrace Bay. If you wish to regis- ter please contact the office at 3542. Dance for Heart Once again, the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be presenting a Dance for Heart Program in Terrace Bay. _ This is a one-evening event where the participants recruit sponsors to donate towards their endeavor of doing an aerobic three-hour program. The participants are awarded prizes for the monics collected for the Heart and~ Stroke Foundation. Watch future issues of the if ee Terrace BaylSchreiber News for more details. Cross-country skiing There are openings for regis- tration in these programs for those who wish to learn how to care for their cross-country skiis and to also learn the basic instruc- tion on skiing. Youth (aged 7-12 years) will have their instruction on February 20; the adult program will take place on February 21. Introduction to Interior Design 1 This program is designed to increase individual awareness of colour scheming and space plan- ning. Participants will do a Work Up based on their individual needs utilizing floor plans, templates and samples which will be pro- vided by the instructor. We still have room for regis- tration. We must have a minimum of 18 registrations. Date and times will be forthcoming. Teen Makeup The program has been rescheduled for Feb. 10, 17 and 24 and names are still being accepted. Teens will be instructed in the proper skin care and makeup pro- cedures. Mixed Squash Clinic This program is designed for the beginner squash enthusiast. An excellent clinic will be held the first weekend of march with a mini tournament for those involved in the program sched- uled for the end of the month. Decorative Tole Painting We are taking names for a pro- gram which will introduce the beginner to the art of Tole Painting. This art can be transferred onto a wide variety of surfaces, i.e., fabric, paper, tin, etc. The program will be scheduled for late spring. These kits can be picked up at the Schreiber office at 302 Scotia Street or you may phone the Community Development office at, 824-2867 to have the kits mailed to you or for more infor- mation. 1988 Memberships New residents to the commu- nity are informed that they must have a valid recreation member- ship in order to take part in the following programs: Curling, Minor Hockey, Adult Hockey, Figure Skating, Bowling Leagues, Ringette, Broomball, Swim Lessons, Baseball and Softball League and Tennis. Program takes place on March Sth, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Flower Arranging Eleanor will be conducting a Flower Arranging course where the participant will be introduced to the basic design of flower arranging. Round, triangular and one- sided design. in the theme of Spring will be taught. This program is scheduled to commence on Wednesday from 7- 9 p.m. beginning on March 2nd. Kids' Krafts There are several more open- ings available in this most-popu- lar program. Donna has an excellent pro- gram to interest children ages six years to 12 years. The program is scheduled to commence on Feb. 9 every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. jE ge Obituary McCuaig Inez Muriel McCuaig, (nee McGregor) : Peacefully at McCausland Hospital, Terrace Bay on January 18, 1988 the day after her 86th birthday. Widow of Lester Robert McCuaig. Beloved mother of Alec, Sherlee, Chal and Jilien; grandmother of Ralph Lester McCuaig and James S. McCuaig, Katie Blom, Donald Lester McCuaig, Christina Inez Dick, and D'arcy Hollis; great grandmother of Melissa Blom, Zachary Lester Blom, and Cory Burke Hollis. Born in Schreiber and a life long resident, Inez was a long time correspondent for the Thunder Bay newspapers. She served on the munici- pal council and was active in several voluntary ser- vices. A piano teacher, she played the organ in several of the churches in Schreiber and also played for dances and entertainments.
