Physical Activity Week We are in the middle of the Terrace Bay Phy- sical Activity Week and the remaining schedule is as follows: Wednesday, May 18th "*Let's Get Involved". All activities at the Ter- race Bay Recreation Centre from 7:00 to 9:00 p-m. are free to the pub- lic. Introduction, demonstration, rules and a chance to try the activity if desired, will be available during this time. Resource persons will be available. 'Squash Court beginning at 7:00 p.m. sessions will be held every half hour. Racquetball Court be- ginning at 7:00 p.m. ses- sions will be held every half hour. Bowling Alley sessions at 7:00 and at 8:00 p.m. learn how to score, rules, etc. and a chance to try the game. Mixed Slow Pitch The league is under- way and we are still accepting names for adults who are willing to participate every week for 2 hours of fun soft- ball. Men's Ball League If you are interested in entering a team or Hockey participating the Arena is booked every Thurs- day from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Your own equip- ment consisting of a stick and gloves is re- quired. To participate you must be a recrea- tion member. Youth Ball Hockey Every Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for anyone between the ages of 10 to 15 years. Helmets are required in addition to sticks and gloves. This program is run on a drop in basis. Men's Slow Pitch The league is final- ized and will consist of four teams. Their regu- lar season begins on June Sth. The activity will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday at 7:15 p.m. at the High School Field. Tourna- ment plans are already underway for the July 1st weekend. This tour- nament is open to adult males and forms are available at the Rec- reation Office. Minor Ball News The open meeting held on May 11th to Hilda's Fixins Apple Bread (makes 2 loaves) 2 large juice oranges 1 cup raisins 2 cups applesauce 4 cups flour 4 teaspoons baking pow- der 2 'teaspoons baking so- da 3/4 teaspoon salt 1% cups sugar 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped 2 eggs, well beaten '% cup melted butter or margarine Grate orange rind and set aside. Juice oran- ges and combine juice with rind, raisins, and applesauce. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together into large bowl. Stir in sugar, then nuts. Add eggs and butter to applesauce mixture; stir in flour mixture until just blended. Grease two 9" x S'"' x 3" loaf pans. Divide batter be- »tween the two pans. Bake in preheated oven at 350 deg. F. for one hour and 10 minutes or until a toothpick in- serted in centre of load serted in centre of loaf comes out clean. Turn out of pans and cool on a wire rack before stlic- ing.
