CEMOTAPH lSMORIAL Cont'd, from Page 3 groups and organizations have been sounded out on this oroject and, as might well be expected, everyone = just everyone has re- acted enthusiastically to the entire idea, Even more encouraging is the spontaneous desire of the Veterans as a whole to see this project completed in time for the 1957 Remembrance Day Services: of November 11th, _ From an original sketch submitted by Alf Barbini -of Fort William (they do a lot of shut-down work for the. iMill) blueprint drawings of the proposed Cenotaph have been prepared, and it is hoped that arrange- ments may be made to have a number of these displayed in suitable locations for the convenience and study of all concerned, - Also, through the generous contribution of time and talent on the part of Jim Cumming, we hope, within the next week or two, to have a sketch of the Cenotaph appear in the Terrace Bay News, This will be in addition to a large Architectural style of painting that Jim hopes to be able to complete in his leisure time for public display, Financing, of course, is the first stumbling block, followed-closely by volunteer labour required for the pre- liminary layout of materials and foundation work, But with the excellent community spirit, experienced in the past, the Committee in charge. is confident: that when final financing-plans are presented to the local supporters, the campaign will meet enthusiastic support. - no less than the "volunteer hours" that will be subscribed to by, primarily, the Veterans, 0-0-0 K. OF C. In past years the practice has been to avoid rehearsals entirely and take "Pot Luck" the night of the Show. These particular people will not be eligible for the competition, but will aug- ment and compliment a truly Amateur Show, Please watch the News for additional information on this Show of Shows, Special queries may be directed to Bill Sernesky (Dial 473) or Eldon Marostica pre sare both of Terrace Bay. 0-0-0 SCOUT NEWS There has been a change in the dates for the various Scout Camps from those dates that were published in this paper a week ago.
