This photo can be found in the Tweedsmuir History created by the Nesterville Women's Institute.

The beginnings of Nestorville are as follows:

In 1905 Frank Nestor was scanning MacBeth Bay looking for a site to build a sawmill and he knew he had found it. When in 1907 he attempted to start production he found himself without financing and the Bishop family of Chicago became involved.

The mill was known as the Bishop or Thessalon Lumber Company. It opened in 1907 and was later sold to J.J. McFadden of Blind River who operated the mill until it burned on June 3, 1928.

The Chicago based family not only built the townsite but also built their own large summer home on the lakeshore approximately 1 1/2 miles from the mill.

The Town came into being almost overnight and offered stores, livery stables, a pool hall, a barber shop, a boarding house, a blacksmiths, warehouses and private residences. The first school was built in 1908 and was named S.S. #4 Lefroy.

The Town began its decline in 1965 with the closing of the school and the Town lost it's status to become part of Thessalon Township.
