A Thunder Bay company called Recycling Life has agreed to take all of the plastic, paper, cardboard and metal cans that EAGER can collect. The group will have to find a way to transport the material they collect to Thunder Bay, but EAGER's Brenda Cottrell says that could change. "They may be willingly to pick it up themselves if we can show it's worth their while," she says. "A successful yield will mean that we'll have a perma- nent recycling program in our area," says Lori Sim, EAGER from Schreiber. The group came into contact with Recycling Life when the company stopped in Terrace Bay during a can recycling day. "They're considering (pick- ing up recyclable material) from all the North Shore Com- munities," says Cottrell. "They've asked us to get in contact with groups in Marathon and Manitouwadge." Two problems still to be ironed out is where to store the materials 6nce they collect it, and finding a way to transport it to Thunder Bay. The collection will take place at the curling rink park- ing lot in Terrace Bay and at a Site still to be determined in Schreiber on Oct. 3, in con- junction with Waste Reduction Week, which runs from Sept. 27 to Oct. 4. Food plastics should be washed, and plastics, card- board, paper and cans should be separated before they are dropped off. O'NEILL TERRACE BAY INSURANCE LTD.
