Page 9, News, Tuesday, December 3 1991 Schreiber student winner of Christmas card design contest by Darren MacDonald The News Elissa Glad, a student at Schreiber Public School, has won the Lake Superior Board of Education's annual Christ- mas Card contest. She originally entered the contest last year, and her design was one of the finalists sent from Schreiber to. the Board contest last Spring. "Schools were allowed one entry per 100 students," says Schreiber principal John St. Amand. "So the school entered as many of their top finishers as possible--they're the cream of the crop." Schools in Terrace Bay, Marathon and Manitouwadge also participated. "T still haven't cashed the cheque yet," she says. Prizes this time included free copies of her design on Christmas Cards. "I also won dinner with the principal," she says. "My husband(Eric) and I are very proud of her," say Tracy Glad, Elissa's mother, who says her daughter has shown an artistic inclination before.. "She doodles quite a bit, and done well in other con- tests."
