- Notes
- This is a view of the Ahmic Harbour shoreline, looking from the south. At the left of the picture is the home on the corner of Ahmic Street and Mary Street. later owned by Loron and Alice Stanyer. At the time of this picture it may have been owned by Almerin Truax with the Snaith or Alexander family as tenants. Central in the picture In front of that home is a home possibly originally built by Henry Montgomery and many years later owned by Amos Ross and, still later by Lewis and Eliza Crossman. At the far right of the picture at the shoreline was the former Croswell Boat Works. It is not clear if the building to the left of the Boat Works was part of the boat works or a separate sawmilling operation. The Croswell Boat business the business was moved to Parry Sound in 1917 when Thomas and James Croswell purchased the Thompson boathouses and shop where the Town beach is now situated. At the top right of the picture is Newell’s store which by the time of this picture had lost the porch and balcony the had formerly given it a distinctive appearance
