    Whitby celebrated its Centennial of incorporation as a town from 26 June to 3 July 1955.

    The hospital opened in December 1969 and is located on the west side of Gordon St, midway between Victoria St. and Lake Ontario. It is now called Lakeridge Health Whitby.

    The first Whitby Horse Show was held in the Town Park on 15-16 July 1913. The president was Fred Hatch, the vice president was Thomas Cussion, and the secretary was Albert W. Jackson. One other horse
