- Calvin Victor Campbell was born in Whitby Township on 12 September 1866. After the death of his mother, he resided with his grandfather, Calvin Campbell.
He was educated at Ottawa schools, winning the 1884 Governor-General's Medal for Classics and the Gilmour medal for Moderns. After teaching in normal and model schools, Campbell attended Victoria University in Cobourg, where he was chosen as Valedictorian in 1890. That same year, Campbell was appointed principal of Central School in Windsor, ON. - Date of Original
