Black and white negative of a photograph of the construction of Joe Stevens' boat the Shirley S. Named after his daughter, the boat is sitting on land by the slip at Whitby harbour.
Notes
Joe Stevens (1881-1963)was a commercial fisherman at Port Whitby From 1917-1963. He built the Shirley S. in 1947 and it was in operation until the 1960s and was broken up in 1978.
