- Gerald Bracey won all the high school athletic trophies in 1947. He was the winner of the Langevin Cup for the quarter mile race in 1945,1946, and 1947. A student of Whitby Collegiate Institute/Whitby High School, Gerald was the Dominion of Canada High School Champion for 880 yards, Canadian Junior Champion for 880 yards, and Canadian Junior Mile Relay Champion in 1948.
