Sennett Public School in honour of its first principal who served from 1921-1952. R. A. Sennett Public School closed in June 2010 and students were transferred to West Lynde Public School for September of that year. The property was purchased by the Town of Whitby and designated a heritage site in 2014. A private business purchased the property in 2018, making it their global headquarters.
